Crack filling is an essential maintenance step that helps prevent moisture from penetrating the asphalt base, which can lead to further deterioration over time.
Please note that alligator or spider‑web cracking is not suitable for crack‑filling materials, as these areas will not bond properly. Such damage requires asphalt patching or replacement, which is an additional service.
For standard linear cracks measuring ¼ inch or wider, we begin by thoroughly cleaning the area, removing vegetation, dirt, and debris to ensure proper adhesion. A pourable crack filler is then installed to create uniform edges and a consistent finish. In deeper cracks, silica sand may be added to stabilize the base before applying the filler. Depending on sub‑base conditions, some full‑depth cracks may not finish perfectly flush with the surface.
Please allow 45 minutes to 1 hour of drying time before driving over freshly filled cracks.
